Mentorship
"Great ophthalmologists are made through mentorship and collaboration."
-Dr. Hercules Logothetis
The path to medicine and beyond can often be daunting. Dr. Logothetis attributes his successful career in ophthalmology to a long list of teachers, professors, surgeons, colleagues, friends and family.
Medicine continues to evolve rapidly forcing physicians to subspecialize. It is no longer possible to be a master of all trades. Identifying mentors who can guide you to the path best suited for one’s inherent skills and interests is critical. Continued pursuit of knowledge and acquisition of advancing techniques are foundational parts of a practicing surgeon.
Dr. Logothetis has a personal interest in mentoring students and trainees interested in healthcare. As part of this, he enjoys speaking to groups of local students regarding eyecare, medicine and career development.
